Milestones

It's with much pleasure that we can now say "Jon is finished with his Bachelors Degree!" He finished up the last of his classes, finals, and final projects last Wednesday and is now the proud holder of a Bachelor of Arts from Rowan University. For how excited I am, you would think I would have posted sooner, but it's been a crazy week since then. Anyway, may I just say, YAHOO!!!

It's That Time Of Year Again

This is the time of year when I reflect on the things I appreciate most. It starts around Thanksgiving and picks up speed until all of quiet thinking moments are taken up with thoughts of the things I'm most grateful for. To name a few, I'm grateful for Family, the Gospel, good music, good humor, good memories, favorite scriptures, indoor plumbing, modern conveniences, and many other things. This is also a time when I miss my family the most. Curse the distance between Utah and New Jersey. When I'm President, they'll be next to one another. I don't think it would work out well for them to be the same state, so we'll have to settle on being neighbors.

Since I'm rambling, which is what I seem to do whenever I post, I'll say this-Jon is in has last 2 weeks of school!!! Can you hear the fanfare in the background. I can, and it gets louder each day. I do hope he survives this.

Life is pretty much the same as has been since the last time I posted, except that gas is cheaper. We can all be grateful for that! More later as any breaking developments occur (which probably means it'll be ages before I post again like usual).

Fall is Fabulous

Fall has rapidly become my favorite season due to the fact that the weather gets cooler. This is the key to it all. This is true especially in New Jersey. There is much I love about the East coast, but I detest humidity. This week it has finally cooled off and with cooler weather comes the promise of the dazzling fall foliage. Last year at this time, we were still sweltering. I am grateful that this is not the case this year, as I feel that there should be cool weather in time for my birthday.

A bit about our current state of affairs: Jon is in his final semester of school at Rowan, for which we are both grateful. I am working for a temp agency and I'm currently on assignment at a company that sells high end men's clothing via the internet. Life is good and I can't complain.

As I visited the blogs of 2 or 3 other bloggers related to me, I noticed the 'TAG' information in each and that I was listed as someone who should take the up gauntlet and provide information regarding myself. So, because I have been tagged, although I'm too late to tag anyone who has a blog because they've already done it, here are my responses to the questions posed:

10 years ago I:

1. Was recovering from going to school for 14 months straight and finishing my Associates degree in that time.
2. Working for Marriot Vacation Club International
3. Contemplating going back to school or serving a mission and trying to save money for either.
4. Spending a lot of time hanging out with Stephanie while living at home in Fruit Heights.
5. Visiting Emily in Logan at Utah State.

5 things on today's "to do" list including things already done because it's 7:00 in the evening:

1. Watch Conference!!! Yay!!!
2. Go to Mel's house to hang out while the men go to Priesthood meeting
3. Run Errands
4. Go to the library
5. Clean my room

5 snacks I enjoy (I reserve the right to modify the word snacks to include breakfast, lunch, and dinner):
1. Corn Dogs (Yay, corn dogs! Yay!)
2. Soup of most kinds-especially cream soups!
3. Breakfast foods involving potatoes, bacon, and eggs-preferably combined
4. Philly Cheese Steaks
5. Pan fried noodles from the Ho Ho Gourmet

5 things I would do if I were a millionaire:

1. Pay off all of our debts
2. Pay off the debts of all of our family members
3. Buy a house
4. Buy a new car
5. Invest the rest and buy tons of food storage

5 places I have lived:

1. Pitman, NJ
2. Passaic, NJ
3. Dupont, PA
4. Rexburg, ID
5. Clayton, NJ

Five jobs I have had:

1. Subway Sandwiches: Sandwich Artist
2. Pepperidge Farms: Assembly Line Worker
3. Muscular Dystrophy Association: Heath Care Services Coordinator/Fundraiser
4. Ricks College Learning Lab: Reading Tutor
5. Montessori Learning Center: Kindergarten Teacher

The above questions and the fact that I will be turning 30 in exactly 1 week have lead me to ponder my life thus far--what an adventure it has been so far. I hope for many more....

The Real Motivators.......

I got an e-mail from Stephanie (aka Duffees) proclaiming that she and Doug now have a blog. After going onto their blog and then visiting the Reynolds' blog and the Newbold blog, I got to thinking that I should probably post something.

My true reason for posting is that I have guilt about not using the blog that Emily so kindly set up for me. In truth, my greatest motivators are guilt and, sadly, food. Not such a good combination. This brings to mind my second-grade ambition of becoming a school teacher. This was not for some noble reason like helping young minds on their way to academic greatness and success in life, but simply for the fact that, at my school, the teachers got 2 desserts at lunch time. Hmmm, need I say more? Now, lets tie the two together. I have guilt over the fact that I am motivated by food. That about sums it up for me.

Bloggers Rock!

As it goes, this is my first attempt at posting to the blog so graciously created by Emily. I can see how blogging can become an addiction-there are so many options when it comes to backgrouds, pictures, and much much more (that sounded like a commercial for something). Perhaps I should become a blog-option sales associate.....or not.

Up and Running

Here we go. Sarah, I hope this works for you. I think it is great, but I won't feel badly if you decide to change anything
(I'll just cry all night).
Really I think you should do whatever you want
(I'll get over it , eventually.)

(Just like I got over my love for dancing and wearing sequins.)
